Arizona Science Center

Science Center History
Originally known as the Arizona Museum of Science and Technology, the Arizona Science Center was begun in 1982 by the Junior League of Phoenix. Although initially begun as a pilot project, the need for such a venue was evidenced after the first year when more than 87,000 visitors walked through its doors. The center's popularity and commitment to excellence won additional support from the city of Phoenix. A new site was located and various grants over the decades have allowed the museum to prosper as an educational powerhouse that is dedicated to the pursuit and enjoyment of science.
Science Center Exhibits and Galleries
Visiting the Science Center means accessing more than 300 interactive exhibits that demonstrate the inner workings of various branches of science. From the famed IMAX theatre that literally puts the audience within the film to the incredible Dorrance Planetarium, the center also features a plethora of changing exhibits that showcase scientific principles and workings.
Guests of the Science Center will be treated to special exhibits like the Waterworks display that is popular with children of all ages. The Steele Gallery features the All About You exhibit that is a biological showcase of human life. Other highlights include an exhibition about Valley of the Sun construction, types of networks, music, U.S. airways, the geological world and much, much more. Various traveling exhibits round out the center's vast store of hands-on knowledge.

From tours to classes, the Science Center continually renews its commitment to teach and inspire. Children and adults can both benefit from scientific coursework on a variety of topics. The center also hosts camps where children can explore the many worlds of science in a fun and informal basis.

Awesome Atoms the Science Center's store that offers many one-of-kind items that can be purchased. Science kits, construction kits, chemistry sets, puzzles, models, robotics, spy kits, dvds, dinosaurs, and clothing can be found on the store's shelves. The City Bakery is great eatery located in the campus that offers organic food at great prices. There is something on the menu for everyone in the family.
Directions To The Arizona Science Center
The Arizona Science Center is located in Downtown Phoenix in the Heritage and Science Park of Copper Square. The Center is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily except holidays. Adult admission fees for non-members is $9. Children and seniors pay $7. Fees are sbjec to change without prior notice.
