When To See Arizona Wildflowers
Wildflower season varies dramatically across Arizona because of the state's wide range of elevations and climates. Arizona Botanical Gardens offer variety at locations around the state. In the lower Sonoran Desert, flowers often begin blooming in February and continue into April. Mid-elevation deserts and grasslands typically peak during March and April, while mountain wildflowers around Flagstaff, the White Mountains and Alpine may continue blooming through June and July. Winter rainfall has the greatest influence on the size and duration of each year's wildflower displays.
